W177 (2018–Present): current M282/M264 petrol and OM608/OM654 diesel range, with the M139-powered A35/A45/A45 S AMG topping the range.
A-Class Engine Buying FAQs
11 confirmed engine families across four generations, from the original M166/OM668 range through to the current M282/M139 line-up.
Use the registration checker on this page — generation (W168/W169/W176/W177) is the clearest first filter given four genuinely distinct engine ranges. Check your VIN: WDD176 prefix indicates W176 (2012–2018), WDD177 indicates W177 (2018–present).
OM651 (W176) favours reconditioned given known EGR/timing chain wear points. Current M282/M264 petrol favours used given strong supply. AMG applications (M133/M139) favour reconditioned given complexity.
Reconditioned engines carry a 12-month, unlimited-mileage warranty on internal mechanical components. UK mainland delivery by kerbside pallet, typically 2–4 working days, with 14-day uninstalled returns.
