What engines were fitted to the Toyota Supra (A90)?
Two BMW‑sourced petrol engines: a 2.0‑litre four‑cylinder turbo (B48, 258 PS) from 2020, and a 3.0‑litre six‑cylinder turbo (B58, 340 PS initially, later 382 PS) from 2019. All are available as used or reconditioned units with fixed prices.
Check the V5C registration document for the engine code field, or use the DVLA's online vehicle checker with the registration number. Engine codes for the Supra are B48B20 (2.0) and B58B30 (3.0). The bonnet badge or trim level (e.g. "3.0" vs "2.0") also indicates which engine is fitted.
Given the Supra is a low‑volume sports car, used engines are scarce and often come from accident‑damaged cars. Reconditioned units offer peace of mind with new wear parts and warranty, at a premium. For the B58, reconditioned may be the more reliable option as the engine is widely used across BMW models.
