Used units are widely available across the N52/N53 parc given the large number of BMW models that used these engines, offering good value for most applications. Reconditioned units are more commonly selected for higher-value vehicles (6 Series, 7 Series, X5) and where injector/coding issues on N53 need addressing. The BMW N52 and N53 are the last naturally aspirated straight-six petrol engines produced by BMW, ending a production run that began with the M30 in 1968. Replacement demand is driven by high-mileage wear — particularly VANOS solenoid degradation, valve stem seal hardening on N52, and injector failures on the direct-injection N53. Every unit we supply has VANOS units tested, injector seats inspected (N53), and valve train components checked as standard before dispatch.
