For the high-volume Vauxhall and PSA applications (Groups 1 and 2), used units are widely available given the large donor parc, offering good value for standard replacements. Recon units are typically selected for higher-mileage or failed-wet-belt examples where a full rebuild provides greater peace of mind. The EB2/PureTech 1.2 turbo is PSA's most widely-used current petrol engine, fitted across Citroën, Peugeot, DS, Vauxhall/Opel, and Toyota models since 2012. Replacement demand is driven primarily by the "wet belt" timing system, which operates in engine oil and can degrade over time, leading to complete engine replacement rather than in-situ repair. Every prepared unit we supply has the timing system inspected and renewed as standard before dispatch.
